ForgetAlzheimers.net is an independent project from the creator of FAlzheimers.com. For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, contact [email protected].
What the signup collects
If you choose to subscribe, we store your email address, selected language, signup time, the consent wording and version you agreed to, and whether you used the pinwheel invitation, footer or signup page. We also record subscription and unsubscribe status. We do not ask for your name, diagnosis, medical history or other health information. Please do not send medical information through this site.
How we use your information
We use your email address to send occasional ForgetAlzheimers.net project news, educational resources and research updates you requested. Joining this list does not subscribe you to FAlzheimers.com product marketing. We do not sell or rent your email address, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with charities for their mailing lists.
Your choice and withdrawal
Subscription is optional. The permission box starts unchecked. You can unsubscribe here or contact us at any time, without creating an account or paying a fee. Signing up is not a donation, purchase, research enrollment or request for medical care.
Service providers and security
Cloudflare hosts this site and stores the subscription list for us. Its Turnstile service checks signup attempts for abuse when you open the form. Cloudflare may process technical information, including IP address and browser information, to deliver and protect these services. The signup application does not store your IP address or browser details in the mailing list. Authorized access to the list is restricted through our Cloudflare account.
Cloudflare and any email delivery provider we use may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Any delivery provider receives information only to send and manage the requested updates on our behalf. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its own processing.
Browser storage and tracking
We do not use advertising trackers on this site. Your browser’s session storage remembers motion preferences and how many pinwheel invitations you have seen and whether you chose to play without more invitations, so we can avoid repeatedly interrupting you. It does not store your email address. The signup form loads Cloudflare Turnstile for security; this is separate from advertising or audience measurement.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics loads only if you select “Accept analytics.” It helps us understand visits, popular pages, approximate regions and devices so we can improve the project. It uses first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, configured to last up to 180 days, and may process technical information on Google’s servers outside your country. Advertising features and personalization are disabled in our tag.
We use the same Analytics property as FAlzheimers.com; reports distinguish this website by hostname. Our analytics code does not send newsletter email addresses, form contents, medical information or the loved-one words from the pinwheel. Page addresses sent by our tag exclude query strings and fragments.
Your analytics choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to change it. Rejecting or withdrawing consent stops our Analytics tag and removes its cookies for this website. Newsletter permission is a separate choice and does not enable analytics. See Google’s privacy policy for its processing.
Retention and your rights
We keep subscription details while you remain subscribed and the list remains in use. After an unsubscribe request, we keep the minimum record needed to respect that choice and document permission. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information. Where applicable, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of your data, or complain to your local data protection authority. Withdrawing permission does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
Children and changes
This email list is intended for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect signups from children under 16. Contact us if an address was submitted by a younger child so we can remove it. We will update this page if our practices change and seek new permission before using your email for a materially different purpose.
Worldwide spin counter
The shared counter adds visitor-activated spins from both sites and broadcasts the total live through Cloudflare. Each spin has a random identifier to prevent double counting after reconnecting. Pending spins are temporarily stored in this tab. The service keeps temporary spin receipts and a cumulative total; it does not link them to emails, subscriptions or Analytics. Cloudflare processes connection information to deliver the service and limit abuse.
