This is a data-derived research explorer—not the illustrated model. Search the complete retained neuron catalog, inspect real morphology, follow strong connections and save a reproducible local stress test.

Load every one of the 166,700 neuron records as a navigable spatial point cloud. The 140,638 neurons with published soma coordinates are plotted in their real MaleCNS positions; the other 26,062 remain in search and connection tracing without invented locations.

Select any neighboring node to follow it. Up to 18 connections per direction are shown.
Reproducible local experiment
Connection stress test
Reduce the selected neuron’s displayed connection weights and compare the remaining local signal capacity. This does not simulate Alzheimer’s pathology.

Data and method
Built to be inspectable.
The catalog preserves every superclass-annotated neuron in the checksum-pinned flybrain 0.1.0 brain-v1 build. The site loads only the shard needed for the selected neuron.
Connectivity is limited on screen to the strongest 18 incoming and outgoing normalized model weights. That keeps the interface usable without implying those are the neuron’s only biological synapses.
